Katie resides in beautiful Perth, Western Australia with her growing family. Her adorable little boy Phoenix is 14 months old and she has a baby girl, who will be 'earthside' early October 2018.

What were your first thoughts and feelings after Phoenix was born?

After my first born my first thoughts were ‘I’m never going to sleep again!’ I realised how demanding being a parent really is, especially in the newborn stage. It was exhausting and rough at times but it’s also the greatest reward and feeling to ever exist.

Did you settle quickly into a routine with him? If so, do you think it worked well for you?

We definitely did settle in to a routine, and quickly which was nice! I am naturally a bit of a ‘prepper/planner’ so I had made sure to do some research on newborns so I wasn’t in for too much of a shock and totally clueless. It helps we had a great sleeper!

How soon after Phoenix was born did you begin to swaddle him?

We began swaddling Phoenix immediately. However we found that normal swaddle wraps were a challenge. No matter how many techniques we tried, he’s always slip an arm out or unwrap himself! Lucky we had a  LOVE TO DREAM SWADDLE UP in our hospital bag because he was in it from day 1 and loved it.

How did you come to know about LOVE TO DREAM™?

I came about LOVE TO DREAM™by following a lot of new mums on Instagram while I was pregnant. I noticed their babes in a convenient zip-up sleep bag which I just had to have! Phoenix is 14 months old now and has used every stage of the LOVE TO DREAM 3-STAGE SLEEP SYSTEM™ to date. I’ve actually just purchased his next size  SLEEP BAG™ for the following winter already!

Do you feel like using the LOVE TO DREAM™ range of products has made a positive impact on you and your baby's sleep?

The LOVE TO DREAM™ range has had a HUGELY positive impact on our sleep journey. As mentioned he’s been in these products from day one and since he was about 7 weeks old he’d sleep through the night and still does, doesn’t get much better than that right?

What is the one thing you wish you'd known before you became a parent?

Without sounding too negative, I wish I had known how lonely becoming a parent would be. Life does a complete 180, childless friends drift away. You are left alone, some days you don’t leave the house and sometimes the only outlet you have with the world is through social media. In saying this, I have met some amazing mums and made life long friends through mothers group and these channels which I’ll be forever grateful.

Three words to describe life before parenthood and three to describe life after becoming a parent?

Before: free, incomplete and quiet.

After: demanding, exhausting and yet beautiful.

What is the one piece of advice you’d offer new parents or parents-to-be?

SLEEP! Haha! And travel. Go out for those Sunday breakfasts and date nights. In the early newborn days, those opportunities are pretty much non-existent. But just know it does indeed get better and a whole lost easier. It’s easy to lose yourselves when you have a new baby, so try to stay positive and connected with your partner, you’re all in this together - teamwork!

What are your top 5 essential items to have ready to go when baby arrives?

  1. A bassinet - preferably one with wheels so you can wheel it everywhere around the house.
  2. White noise sound machine - I cannot express my love for these any more!
  3. Wraps an cloths on hand purely for mess, babies spew everywhere isn’t a fun time.
  4. Portable change mat or basket as you don’t want to be running back and forth to the nursery to change a million nappies a day.
